I really want to know what works for you when you need to let things out—whether that’s through deep breaths, tears, or a good night’s sleep. What do you do to help yourself feel better?

While we are getting started on this journey, I want to share some important findings from research that can help you, especially if you’re just beginning or picking things back up. Let’s look at what truly makes a difference when we face tough times and how we can support each other through it all.

Here is a list of what I found and modified (below) but lets simplify it even more.

Lets do this!

Here we go!!!

Number 1: Be YOUR self! You read that right. Thats all you need to do!

Number 2: What is it your wanting to change? Lets then work together to iron out a focus, your plan. Flexibility might be needed here. Goals change at any moment at any time.

Number 3: Lets learn together how to express ourselves with communication. Its the key to many things, including relationships.

Number 4: Take risks. Risks that improves something or have the potential to —- those risks.

Number 5: Sharing and receiving feedback is is possible as well as needed.

Number 6: Keep an eye out on distancing behaviors. WE ALL do it from time to time. Sometimes those behaviors are a message. Listen to it. Explore it.

Number 7: Dont forget about yourself, pause for a bit to gain what is needed to remind yourself this takes time, effort and more — sometimes, and time.

Number 8: The work outside of therapy. I saved this one for last. The work on yourself in between sessions that includes reflecting, challenging, questioning, exploring, and trying out new options.
